Handicapped Information

Handicapped Area

Handicapped areas are located in Boston and Cambridge and are filled on a "first-come, first-served" basis. On the Boston side, the handicapped area is located within the Oval to the right of the stage. Each person is allowed one guest. Once this handicapped area has reached capacity, no additional spectators will be admitted. On the Cambridge side, there is a reserved handicapped area along a section of the Cambridge Parkway. Handicapped accessible restrooms are available at all restroom locations at the event.

Handicapped Parking:

Parking on the Boston side for persons with disabilities is available on July 4th in the Mass Eye and Ear parking lot as space is available. The MA State Police will shut down access to the lot once this occurs. You must have a RMV issued handicap placard to enter the lot. The MBTA RIDE will be providing an accessible shuttle from the parking lot to the Disability Gate of the Esplanade starting at 12:30PM, however vehicles will be prioritized for MBTA RIDE customer use due to ADA restrictions.

Handicapped parking is available on Cambridge Parkway on the night of July 4th after 5:00PM. Vehicles with handicapped parking placards should proceed through the security checkpoint at Land Boulevard and Binney Street and follow the directions of the uniformed police officers to Cambridge Parkway. This parking area will close once all the spaces are full. All cars parked on Cambridge Parkway must be off the road by 1:00AM on July 5th. Any vehicles left after 1:00AM will be towed at the owner's expense. (subject to change)
