Directions and Parking

By Foot:
On July 4th the Esplanade can be accessed from Beacon Street via Berkeley, Clarendon, Dartmouth, and Fairfield Streets and Massachusetts Avenue. On July 3rd you will need to use one of the footbridges to cross Storrow Drive.

Public Transportation:
The commuter rail and subway systems are favorable alternatives to driving and parking for Boston events. The MBTA provides extra bus and subway service on July 4th. The two closest T-stations on the Boston side are Charles-MGH on the Red Line, and Arlington Street on the Green Line. On the Cambridge side, the Kendall and Central Square stations on the Red Line are nearby. On July 4th after 10:30PM, all MBTA buses and trains will be free to the public.

For more MBTA information please call (617) 222-3200 or visit www.mbta.com.

Parking Information:
We recommend that you take public transportation (MBTA) to the event. If you do bring a vehicle to the event we suggest parking at the 100 Clarendon Street garage www.100clarendon.com, which is within walking distance to the Esplanade.

Handicapped Parking:
In Boston, parking for event-goers with disabilities is available at the Mass Eye and Ear Infirmary on July 4th. This lot can be accessed by entering Storrow Drive outbound from Leverett Circle and exiting at the Charles Circle off-ramp. The parking entrance is at the far left of the beginning of the ramp. A handicapped plate or placard is required to enter the lot.

A shuttle, which is offered on July 4th only, will be provided from the designated parking location at the Mass Eye and Ear Infirmary. The shuttle will run from 12:00PM through 6:00PM, or until the area is full, and will return all event-goers to the lot at the end of the concert and fireworks.

On the Cambridge side, there is a reserved handicapped area along a section of Cambridge Parkway on the night of July 4th after 5:00PM. Vehicles with handicapped parking placards should proceed through the security checkpoint at Land Boulevard and Binney Street.

Please note: There is no handicapped parking on July 3rd.
